Comrogen Locales & Currencies

Comrogen has support for multiple locales and languages for both the front-facing and administration website. Users have the ability to select the locale of their choice in the front-end via a drop-down and administrators can setup information for each locale by selecting the corresponding option inside the admin site.

The multi locale system supports product, product group, attribute, category, content and URL for each locale; this allows administrators to set up descriptions, filters, and all other aspects of the site to suite the target audience. The locale system even supports URLs to reflect the desired selection e.g. a URL may contain the modifier “en-us” to trigger the US, English locale; www.mysite.com/en-us/product/53/brown-wooden-chair vs the Spanish url: www.mysite.com/es-us/producto/silla-de-madera-marron.

By default the Comrogen admin site includes system prompts for English, Spanish and French; new sets may be created and added to the system via spreadsheet from the data exchange system.

Comrogen includes support for multiple currencies, this is rendered throughout the website when users change the default currency to match the local currency of their choice. NOTE: The system will still use the default base currency for all transactions so all charges at the gateway are done in the store’s native currency (commonly USD).

Administrators can enable or disable currencies as needed or add new ones. The system works by setting the base rate of the default currency and then using a multiplier to determine other currencies. Updated rates may be downloaded as needed by a routine job using the system scheduler.
